Brockley Then and Now…

then-and-now-post

We love working in Brockley – it’s a really lively area stuffed with artists, creatives and interesting events.  So we’re really excited to have been involved organising this big piece of public art that is happening this weekend (19th July). The photographer is Simon Terrill – well known for his crowd photography.  If you have any connection with Brockley and fancy being part of a mass photograph with thousands of other people now is your chance! All the info is here – and we hope to see you there… http://www.brockleysociety.org.uk/thenandnow/

The other side of the camera

Mark Harrison was photographing an author in Frankfurt last week, who has written a rather lovely description of what it is like to be on the other side of the lens*.  It’s absolutely worth a read for the quality of the writing, but it also encapsulates all the elements that we think make Mark such a brilliant portrait photographer – makes us feel quite proud of working with him!

*As the portrait of Clare Dunkle has not been published yet, here is a behind the scenes photograph of Mark with Olivia Williams also looking very happy with her portrait.

“Don’t think of it as dying” (Terry Prachett 1948 – 2015)

Very sad to hear about the untimely death of Sir Terry Prachett.  His books were a fixture on our teenage shelves, and his satirical fantasy world will be much missed.

This shot is from the series that Mark Harrison took of Sir Terry and his brain scans in 2010 for the Saturday Times Magazine.mh070910_times_pratchett-3964

Lucid on Instagram

We’ve been wandering around on Instagram for a while now and have decided this year to start hosting a few takeovers, letting each of our photographers get their mitts on the account.

So ahead of the great takeover make sure you’re following us here <=

X marks the spot

We’re about to head into election fever here in the UK as the 7th of May  looms ever closer…and we watch all the parties trying desperately to show that they are different from each other.   Portrait photographer Mark Harrison has collected quite a few political scalps recently – here’s a selection below to whet your whistle – from Labour, UKIP and the Conservatives.
