We were delighted to see that three of Mark Harrison’s portraits: Nadiya Hussain, William Parr and Stephen Hawking were all chosen to be in the final 100 for The BJP Portrait of Britain competition. The images can be seen til the end of September on JCDecaux’s digital network of screens in railway stations, shopping centres, high streets and bus stops around the UK. You can also see them here: http://gallery.portraitofbritain.uk/
Mark was also talking about his entries on BBC Radio London with (l to r) Dylan Collard photographer, Jo Good – presenter and previous photographic subject of Mark’s, Simon Bainbridge of the BJP, and Mark Harrison.
We had a very happy, champagne fuelled, night out (thank you Tattinger and Pink Lady) at the Food Photography Awards last night . It’s always a lovely chance to see many of our favourite clients in one place, and to look at some amazing food photography on the walls. But last night, we had even more to reason to enjoy it as our very own Susan Bell won first prize in the Production Paradise Food off the Press category (https://www.pinkladyfoodphotographeroftheyear.com/finalists-gallery-2016/ ) To say that Susan was surprised to win would be an understatement – but she rallied round and we helped her to celebrate late into the evening. Congratulations Susan on a fabulous win!
We are absolutely delighted that Robyn Vickers and the Ogilvy and Mather crew won a graphite pencil in the D&AD for their project for Amnesty. It was a tricky project involving hours and hours of work with melted wax, candles, models and hidden figures. The project raised both money and awareness for Amnesty and was a great success. We are proud that Robyn was involved – you can see more about the project here:
So Lucid Rep is 6 years old – and like all 6 year olds we’ll be celebrating our birthday with presents and cake…but for you, not us!
Look out for our postcards with one of our special 6 images. All you have to do is take a picture of something, anything that relates to the number six, upload it to our Pinterest board, and the best entry will win a limited edition print of one of our photographers’ shots. There is no limit to the number of times you enter, but the judges (us) choice will be final…
Closing date is the 10th of Jan 2014.
See all of our photographers’ creations, and enter your own by tweeting us @lucidrep.com , or emailing them to [email protected]
We’re looking forward to seeing your entries!
Now it’s all over we can finally show you Anders Schonnemann’s shot of tea pickers that was a finalist in the food in the field category for the Pink Lady Competition 2013…Any excuse to drink Tattinger champagne and look at gorgeous food photography and catch up with our peers is always going to be a delightful evening – and we weren’t disappointed.
Both Con Poulos and Anders Schonnemann had a number of commended images in the competition this year. Last year Con was a finalist, but this year, as one of the finalists, it was Anders’s tea pickers shot that was hung on the wall for us all to admire.
It was a tough competition and alas Anders didn’t win this time. However we were delighted to cheer on our near neighbour in SE1- and all round nice chap Jonathan Gregson as he won not one, but two, prizes in the food portrait category.
Congratulations to all the winners and commended photographers – and we’re looking forward to going again next year…
and coming home with an award next time (third time lucky).
